Make you own minicard tags

Today is day 2 of Christmas in July and today I am making 4 mini cards that can be used as tags from large dies in my stash. I pulled a tree, star, topper and a stamp and die Santa. Once you see how I did it you will be able to go through your stash and find all sorts of dies you can use not just for Christmas but for all occasions. They go together very quickly. The Santa took the longest since he was colored. The tree and the star took no time at all. Depending on the size and shape of the dies you can get 3 or 4 bases out of 1- 8 ½ by 11 sheet of paper. Be sure to stop by karenkreatescards.com for other Christmas in July information.

Materials used remember anything from your stash will work

Vintage Santa stamp and die from Crafter’s Companion

Layered Christmas star die I have had for years

Christmas tree die from Crafter’s Companion

8 ½ x 11 White cardstock about 100 pound

White paper to color

Yellow scrap in 3 shades

Green scrap

Red scrap

Directions

1. Fold the 8 ½ x 11 in half lengthwise and tape down the dies with about ¼ of an inch hanging off over the fold. Run then through your die cutting machine.

2. Now cut out the same dies in the desired color as normal. Stamp and or color as needed.

3. Cut a piece or ribbon an inch longer than twice the length of the die.

4. Glue the 2 ends of the ribbon to the front of the white base forming a loop.

5. Glue the regular die cuts over the bases and decorate as desired.

6. Write or stamp a “to” and “from’ on the inside.
