Peek-a-boo card Craft Roulette #158

It’s Friday so it’s time for Craft Roulette! This week the perimeters were: peek-a-boo card, rain, first grade colors and a distressed edge. I have listed the stamps I used but this can be done with any stamps. Look at this video as a technique to use with the stamps you have in your stash. I know that couple stamp is very old from Crafter’s Companion. A circle nesting die would work just as well as the square one did. The size of the hole really depends on the stamp peek through from the inside.

Materials used

Copic markers

5x7 card base

Blue cardstock 6 ¾ x 4 ¾

Blue cardstock to cut out frame

White smooth cardstock for coloring 6 ½ x 4 ½

White smooth cardstock for stamping and stenciling 6 ¾ x4 ¾

All about You stamp set from Crafters Companion

Rain stencil -from stash

Scenic stencil from Hero Arts

2-inch square nesting dies

Sun and rainbow stamps- from stash

Couple in rain – from stash

Crafter’s Companion distressing tool

Directions

1.On the white 6 ¾ x 4 ¾ stamp out the inside scene of the card first. Do this first so you can place your front cut out.

2.Place the smaller nesting die over where you want the cut out to be and measure from top and side.

3.Temporally tack down the blue 6 ¾ x 4 ¾ blue and the white 6 ½ x 4 ½ to the front.

4. Place the die, measure using the blue mat because it is the same size as the inside piece. Run through your machine. I had to run mine 2x through my Gemini Pro to cut all the layers.

5. Pull the pieces apart and distress the blue mat layer.

6. Stamp the I love you on the front. Glue into place.

7. Use the nesting die you used for the hole and the next size up to form a frame and cut out in blue. Glue over the opening.
