Pop Up Tuxedo Card

Updated: Jan 13, 2023

This card is a variation on the box pop up card. The box is just scored the same but only one side is cut to make the shirt collar. The supports on the inside are bowed when open and not straight across so the items you are popping out of the box will face forward.

The stamp sets for the fishing shirt are from Pink and Main. There is a link below. You will also find a link to a You tube tutorial below.

For card -all measurements are in inches

4x 10 ½ scored at 2 ½, 5, 7 ½, 10

1x 4 ½ scored at ½ and 4

1 x 3 scored at ½ and 2 ½

9- 3 x ¼ acetate stripes (1 for each item popping out of card)

Directions

1. On the 4 x 10 ½ paper scored at 2 ½, 5, 7 ½ and 10, fold all score lines

2. On the 5 in score line cut down 1 ½ inches

3. Fold from the top of the 2 ½ in score line to the bottom of your cut line

4. Fold from the top of the 7 ½ in score line to the bottom of your cut line

5. Glue the ½ tab to the opposite end of the paper to form the box.

6. Glue the mat layer to the 2 unfolded sides.

7. On one of the remaining 2 mats measure 1 ½ on the right side and cut from your mark to the left top corner.

8. On the final mat measure 1 ½ in down on the left side and cut from the mark to the top right corner. This will make a mirror image of the other side of the shirt.

9. On the 1 x 3 paper scored at ½ and 2 ½ put a pencil mark at 1 ½ (This will help you line up the paper)

9. Put glue on the 2, ½ inch tabs

10. With the box lying flat with the front of the shirt on top slide the paper into the box past the shirt collar, using your pencil mark to center your paper.

11. On the 1 x 4 ½ scored at ½ and 4 put a pencil mark at 4 ¼

12. Put glue on the 2, ½ tabs

13. With the box lying flat with the front of the shirt on top slide the paper into the box past the shirt collar, using your pencil mark to center your paper,

14. attach each item you are popping out of the box to an acetate strip.

15 Glue the items in the box so they face the front of the shirt. Items can be glued to the 2 supports, front and back of the box.
